Sandra McKee is a versatile sports reporter who currently covers high school field hockey, wrestling and baseball, horse racing and pro tennis.
Sandra McKee has been with The Baltimore Sun since 1976, when she became the first woman sportswriter in the city since World War II. She is a West Virginia native and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from The American University in Washington, D.C. She has covered everything from high schools to Super Bowls. She was covering the Orioles when they opened their locker room to women in 1979; the Blast when it won its first soccer championship; the Capitals when they went to their first - and only - Stanley Cup final; the Kentucky Derby when Barbaro rose to ill-fated prominence; and the French Open when Andre Agassi completed a career Grand Slam. Not to mention her auto racing writing, which earned her a spot in the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.
