My Biography
Matthew Hay Brown is politics and government editor at The Baltimore Sun. A former Washington correspondent for the newspaper, he has reported from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East, traveling most recently to Syria and Jordan to write about the Iraqi refugee crisis.
Brown has written for The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Christian Science Monitor and other newspapers. As a staff writer at The Hartford Courant, he was a member of the team that won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize in Breaking News Reporting for coverage of a workplace shooting at the Connecticut Lottery Corp.
He holds a master's degree with honors from the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University.
