My Role

It's my job as the celebrity columnist to interview stars when they're in Chicago -- either at their hotel, backstage before a concert or on the red carpet -- and cover where they hung out around town. I write the About Last Night and About This Weekend columns for the Tribune every Monday and Friday, respectively, and blog regularly on chicagotribune.com/luis.
My Biography

Both of my parents are from Colombia, which made for an interesting upbringing in Highland Park, Ill. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003 and then interned at men’s magazine FHM in 2004. In 2005, I became the Trib's first full-time soccer reporter. I learned how to work on barely any sleep when I covered the 2006 World Cup in Germany and have been using that skill regularly since becoming the celebrity columnist in May 2009.
