Responsible for assigning, editing and enhancing events content for multimedia presentation (Internet, print, mobile). Responsible for coverage of big annual events and festivals, and development of creative ways to promote events and venues listings. Oversee the production of the annual Fall Arts Guide. Maintain the events/venues database tool and the related events section fronts on the website. Manage social media coverage of events (Facebook and Twitter accounts). Produce stories as well as blog posts for multimedia presentation (Internet, print, mobile). Produce and send out a weekly events e-newsletter. Produce and edit photo galleries with a focus on entertainment- and events-based content.
Lori Sears has worked in numerous capacities in her 18 years at The Baltimore Sun. Now as events manager, her focus is shared on print and web coverage. Previously, she worked as a copy editor, writing headlines and editing articles for the features and news desks. She has served as the A&E coordinator, overseeing the TV book and daily grids, numerous syndicated features on the arts pages, concert announcements, theater and classical music events and more. She has also written a column on interesting and useful home products and new home shops in the area. She worked as an editorial assistant, as well, and wrote weekly stories for the LIVE section on family events around town, the week's best bets and more.
