Keri Wiginton
Resident/Photographer
My Role
I document any and everything that affects the lives of Chicagoans. This can be a Blackhawks game or meetings with Chicago's politicians. It also includes using all the tools available to me to tell the story in a medium that fits it best, which can include video, audio, still photos or a mix of all three.
My Biography
I grew up in south Georgia and then attended the University of Georgia, graduating with a degree in magazine writing and photojournalism. After interning at several newspapers including the York Dispatch in York, Pa., and Patuxent Publishing Co. in Columbia, Md., I started my career at The St. Petersburg Times in St. Petersburg, Fla. After documenting central Florida for six years, I decided to venture to the midwest and photograph for the Tribune.
My Interests
When I'm not photographing for the newspaper, I like to take my camera out and travel. My most recent escapades included walking 7 miles on the Great Wall of China and hiking in and out of the Grand Canyon in a day.
I also make a mean peanut butter banana vegan cupcake.
