Born in Evanston, Ill. Grew up in Wilmette, Ill. Graduated from St. Joseph School and Loyola Academy in Wilmette, where I played football on great teams in the Chicago Catholic League. Graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Communication Arts. Married to Dianne Santostefano Paxson with four children -- Nick, Nat (Megan Kilcoyne), Emily (Simone Piga) and Toni. One of few active journalists who have worked for the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Daily News. Have covered or helped coordinated coverage for high school state champions, playoff and championship seasons for the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, Cubs and White Sox and many Olympics. Began professional career with Pioneer Press, a weekly chain of newspapers covering Chicago's North Shore suburbs.
