My Biography

Katherine Skiba is an award-winning journalist who joined the Chicago Tribune, her hometown paper, after writing for U.S. News & World Report and The Milwaukee Journal. She is a graduate of Marquette University and was a Nieman Journalism Fellow at Harvard University. She has reported from Washington for more than 10 years and has written from 16 foreign countries and more than 30 states. Among her major stories: the war in Iraq, the 9-11 attack in Washington, presidential campaigns and five national political conventions. She has discussed politics and current events on "The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer," "White House Chronicle," CNN, MSNBC, C-SPAN, WGN Radio and other outlets. She is author of a memoir, which is based on the Iraq invasion and titled, "Sister in the Band of Brothers: Embedded with the 101st Airborne in Iraq."
