Jonathan Pitts
My Role

Jonathan Pitts, by training a magazine-style reporter on human-interest subjects, writes a feature centerpiece for the Sun's Anne Arundel County section most weeks. Over the past year or so, that has included stories on a struggling minor-league pitcher, an African-American oral historian, a lady stunt pilot, a chain-smoking mechanic who leads Tea Party rallies and a quadriplegic Iraq War veteran who tried to assume ownership of an $800,000 home under false pretenses and got stopped at the very last minute.
My Biography

A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, and the co-author of "You're Missin' a Great Game," the memoirs of Hall of Fame baseball manager Whitey Herzog, Jonathan Pitts has covered D-Day veterans in France, oyster shuckers in Ireland, aging hippies in Kent, Ohio, the wake of a flood in St. Bernards Parish, La., and actors, opera singers, Orioles and octogenarian ice hockey players in and around Baltimore, Maryland.
My Interests

Baseball, hockey and U.S. history; photography, bluegrass music and great sportswriting; the red/blue divide; cats, Korea and Christianity; family life.
