Music and entertainment writer for The Morning Call and Tribune news services. Chief writer of Lehigh Valley Music blog.
He caught the music writing bug in high school when his Led Zeppelin story won an award, but took a detour through news writing. Worked at newspapers in Fayetteville and Greensboro, N.C., before becoming The Morning Call. Has been an assistant metro editor, then editor of its offices in Bethlehem, Lehighton and Quakertown -- the last editor those final two offices had before they closed. Along the way, won more than two dozen state and national awards as a reporter and editor, but returned to writing music a dozen years ago. Since then, I wrote the first story ever on Jack's Mannequin, I have the number for All-American Rejects' Nick Wheeler on my cell phone and I was the only newspaper writer given access to the Jonas Brothers for a day.
Uh, music, obviously. At least a passing interested in every kind; a love of early punk and good folk.
