633 N. Orange Avenue
My job involves working with the newsroom to create the best coverage in Central Florida. I am the senior manager responsible for the interactive, online, video/photo, and local news teams.
I am a New York City native who has now lived in Florida longer than in Manhattan. I worked as a news reporter and editor in New Jersey before joining the St. Petersburg Times, where I covered health and aging issues during the 1990s. Since leaving St. Pete in 1998, I've freelanced for WebMD.com, the New York Times and other web sites and publication and spent a year as a Kaiser Family Foundation health care reporting fellow. I came to the Orlando Sentinel first in 2002 as its Lake County editor and later moved to online before leaving in 2008 to become the digital news manager at WESH 2 News/WESH.com. I returned here in 2010.
I read crime novels and imagine writing one. I watch movies a lot, but like to start in different places. I used to run even when someone wasn't chasing me, but now only walk quickly behind Louie the Wonder Dog (an Aussie) or ride my bike. I like to visit places with mountains and someday still hope to climb Half Dome in Yosemite. I am married, have two daughters and live in Mount Dora, the best little town in Florida, IMHO.
