My Role

I've been a Baltimore Sun sports writer since 2004, handling assignments including Terrapins men's basketball and football, the NFL, sports economics, congressional steroids hearings and youth coaches who run afoul of the law. Maryland basketball and football is my full-time beat. During those seasons I follow the team at home and to all the road games. I'm getting to know all the ACC campuses and am always looking for offbeat stories and "big-picture" stories about college athletics.
My Biography

Before my college football and basketball assignments, I covered news -- including the 2002 Beltway sniper attacks -- and politics for The Baltimore Sun, the Washington bureau of The Arizona Republic and The Associated Press.

I'm fortunate to have been able to cover my passions such as sports (including NBA finals and NCAA tournaments) and politics (presidential elections, debates and nominating conventions). This is what I always wanted to do.

My family moved a lot when I was young my twin sister and I lived in Larchmont, N.Y; Hilo, Hawaii; Columbus, Ohio; and Montgomery County, Md. As an adult, I've lived in Philadelphia, Harrisburg and State College, Pa; as well as Annapolis, Md., and Alexandria, Va. I am a University of Pennsylvania grad.
My Interests

My family-thanks for indulging all my sports travel.

Music of many varieties. I'm disappointed that I can't get the Beatles on my iTouch because they were always my favorites and they stand the test of time.

Sports, including games and movies. Bull Durham is my favorite sports movie. You could look it up.
