I cover the food and beverage industries for the Chicago Tribune's business section. My beat includes fast food, restaurants, packaged food, alcohol and candy. My coverage focuses on large Chicago-based companies including McDonalds, Kraft Foods, Sara Lee and MillerCoors.
Before arriving at the Tribune in July 2010, I spent three years as food reporter at Advertising Age, the leading trade magazine for the marketing and advertising industry. Prior to Ad Age, I spent nearly two years at the Los Angeles Business Journal, covering law and retail, which included restaurants, hospitality, and the apparel industry. For four years prior to those positions, I worked as a freelance writer, for publications including Chicago Magazine, Shape magazine, the Tampa Tribune and Zap2it.com. My journalism degree is from Northwestern University.
