Digital editor Darcel Rockett has been a part of the Tribune family for a couple of years -- first as a producer for Zap2it.com (covering all things pop culture) and now as a member of the online team that gives the Tribune a worldwide presence. Darcel has been a part of the Chicago journalism community for over 15 years, writing for the Associated Press, The Southtown Star, Claretian Publications, and a variety of other periodicals across the country. In that time she's covered business, features, and broadcast news by way of CBS2chicago.com. Connecting to the population that is her home, she's even served as a special needs aide/substitute teacher when she's not working for a media company. Because while the pen is mightier than the sword, connections and relationships are why she does what she does.
