Colleen Kujawa
Editor/Designer
My Role
I am an editor/designer for the Chicago Tribune copy desk.
My Biography
I've been a media professional for more than 10 years.
Before joining the Tribune, I worked as a copy editor with a wonderful crew at The Times of Northwest Indiana. Prior to that, I worked as an Illinois correspondent for The Times; as an assistant editor, news and entertainment writer, page designer and photo editor for the weekly Calumet Press and entertainment magazine New Slang; and as a morning show production assistant for WJOB-AM 1230. One of my favorite memories from WJOB was my one-day stint as a leprechaun for a live broadcast at a traditional Irish pub in Merrillville. (The striped socks, especially.)
I grew up in Northwest Indiana and still miss falling asleep to the sound of crickets and passing trains. I live on the Near North Side.
I like to turn the dial (or switch the app) to NPR and read The Sun magazine, film criticism, some fiction and a lot of nonfiction. I enjoy verbally sparring with my loved ones and colleagues, and I occasionally fumble around with a camera.
