Belinda Long-Ivey
Reporter, Graphics Sr
My Role

I am a senior graphics reporter who researches, reports and illustrates static infographics for print, Flash interactive graphics for online and, occasionally, motion infographics for TV and online. I specialize in 3D illustrations and data-driven projects, but recently have taken a keen interest in interactive motion graphics and kinetic typography.

I also edit News Illustrated, the paper's weekly full-page infographic in Outlook every Sunday, that is produced by the staff of four graphics reporters (including myself).
My Biography

After graduating from the University of Florida, I spent the first four years of my career traveling all over the country to hone my design skills. I interned at the Philadelphia Inquirer as a Chips Quinn minority scholar, and worked at the Baltimore Sun and Arizona Republic (Phoenix) before returning to Florida. I came to the Sun Sentinel in 2003 to explore my budding passion for infographics, eventually discovering a way to marry my two loves of writing and art.
