Tara Malone joined the Chicago Tribune as an education reporter in 2007. She also covered education issues as a reporter for the Daily Herald from 2003 to 2007. Prior to this, she worked for the Buenos Aires Herald in Argentina. Her work has been honored by the Associated Press, the Education Writers Association, the Nieman Foundation for Journalism and the National Headline Awards among others. Malone graduated from Georgetown University and received a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
