As The Sun's Director of Multimedia, Sullivan manages production of video and audio content for baltimoresun.com, coordinates mobile content delivery and oversees the company’s news-sharing relationships with broadcasters.
Steve Sullivan joined The Sun in 2001 as Executive News Editor for Multimedia. He has overseen the creation of television and radio facilities in the newspaper’s newsroom, Sullivan became the Tribune Company’s first multimedia editor in 1992, when he was hired to establish and manage a television bureau in the Chicago Tribune’s main newsroom. In 1998, he co-founded the Advanced Interactive Media Group, LLC, a strategic consulting group offering interactive and integrated media research, analysis, development and training. He has covered the newspaper and broadcasting industries for national media trade publications, including Broadcasting & Cable, Broadcast Engineering, Radio World and Editor & Publisher. He also co-authored Non-Stop News: A Look At 24-Hour Local Cable News Channels, published by the Radio and Television News Directors Association. Sullivan began his career in Columbus, Ohio in 1980 as a writer/producer at Warner Amex QUBE, the world’s first interactive television system. Sullivan has a BA Journalism from The Ohio State University. He and his wife, Marcy Baer, and their three children live in Towson.
