I've been a reporter at The Sun since January 2000. In that time I've covered Anne Arundel County government, downtown development in Baltimore and a number of high-profile stories, from 9/11 to the execution of "Beltway Sniper" John Muhammad. In 2003, I was embedded with the 101st Airborne Division for the invasion of Iraq and later wrote several in-depth stories about soldiers returning to the States. In 2005 I had the good fortune to be posted to Johannesburg, South Africa, as the newspaper's (final) Africa correspondent. During three years there, I filed from 15 countries, with an emphasis on stories that reflected Baltimore's concentration of international relief agencies and public health institutions.
