I'm an education writer covering both K-12 and higher education in our region. My beat includes Newport News Public Schools, Hampton City Schools, Hampton University, Christopher Newport University and Thomas Nelson Community College.

Before joining the Daily Press in December 2007, I spent two years as a staff writer at The Winchester (Ky.) Sun, and a year as an intern at the Lexington (Ky.) Herald Leader. I'm a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where I majored in journalism and minored in Spanish.
