My Role

I cover all aspects of media including television, radio, advertising, public relations and the occasional viral tweet.
My Biography

My media career spans three decades, some of it gainfully employed. Over the years I have worked as a freelance writer, account executive, broadcast consultant and radio station manager. I began freelancing for the Chicago Tribune in 2002, covering a wide range of subjects for Metro and Business. In 2011, I joined the Tribune staff as a business reporter, coalescing my experience to focus on Chicago’s lively and fascinating media beat.

I have a bachelor’s degree in English from Kenyon College and a master’s in journalism from Northwestern University, at what is now known as the Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications and Tuckpointing, I think.
