I have worked as a sports writer, sports editor, business editor, regional news editor, copy editor, page designer, copy desk chief and co-publisher of a community newspaper dedicated to education coverage. I previously worked at Dow Jones Newswires, the Tallahassee Democrat, the Ann Arbor News, the Detroit Free Press, the Rochester (N.Y.) Democrat and Chronicle and the St. Petersburg Times. I have a master's degree in Public Services Management from DePaul University's School of Public Service, where I teach a course called "Writing Skills for Public Service Professionals." My wife and I have three kids and three cats.
