I am a senior reporter covering residential and commercial real estate. I joined the Sentinel just as the historic housing boom was ending and have written about foreclosures, price declines and other aspects of the devastating downturn. As the housing market improves, I'm writing about "underwater" borrowers finally being able to sell and "boomerang" buyers who are getting another chance at homeownership.
I started out as a sports writer and ended up as a business writer. I was a sports intern for the Orlando Sentinel while attending the University of Central Florida in the 1980s. I later moved to a small daily to cover city hall in Fort Pierce before joining the Daily Business Review in West Palm Beach. After a stint as a newsletter editor at LRP Publications in Palm Beach Gardens, I covered commercial real estate for The Palm Beach Post. I joined the Sun Sentinel on Oct. 24, 2005, the same day Hurricane Wilma hit South Florida.
I enjoy reading, pickup basketball and fantasy football.
