Senior Reporter
My Role

I cover politics and Orlando City Hall for the Sentinel. Among other things, that includes Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer's office and the City Council.
My Biography

I grew up in Titusville, Florida. I'm the youngest of 10 children.

I have a bachelor's degree in journalism and political science from the University of Central Florida -- Go Knights! Prior to joining the Sentinel in 2001, I worked as a reporter and editor at several other newspapers, including the Fort Pierce Tribune, Daytona Beach News Journal, and Akron Beacon Journal.

My wife, a psychologist named Kathy, is lovely and much smarter than me. My two sons, because of their youth, are not yet smarter than me.
My Interests

I like motorcycling, and wish the best time of year to ride in Florida didn't coincide with lovebug season. I enjoy kayaking Florida's waterways. I scuba dive. I read all manner of things. I like to cook, but that doesn't mean I'm good at it. I like my riding mower, but hate to mow the lawn.
