Kevin is the Tribune's "Cheap Eater" restaurant columnist and a staff writer in the Thursday Dining section. He also contributes profiles and pop cultural features to the daily "Live!" section and the Chicago Tribune Sunday Magazine.
Kevin was born in Hong Kong, grew up in Toronto and Seattle, attended college in Los Angeles and now calls Chicago home. He is the winner of the 2010 James Beard Foundation Award for "The Cheeseburger Show," and a Beard Award finalist for newspaper feature writing. His work appears in both the 2010 and 2011 "Best Food Writing" anthology. Kevin began his newspaper career at the Los Angeles Times and has contributed to ESPN the Magazine and public radio's This American Life. He was a 2003 graduate of the University of Southern California.
