Georgia East is a metro reporter at the Sun-Sentinel. She covers Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes, Miramar, the local Caribbean community and quirky slice of life stories that could only happen in South Florida. She is also a regular contributor to the Sun-Sentinel parenting blog, focusing on single parents and step-parenting issues.
Georgia was raised in Brooklyn by Jamaican parents. Her East Flatbush neighborhood was made up mostly of new immigrants, which allowed her to observe and learn about various cultures. Her work has appeared in various publications including: Newsday, Asbury Park Press and the Los Angeles Times.
