I cover science for the daily paper, and write The Sun's online Weather Blog. I also answer reader questions about the weather and the night sky, on the print weather page, Thursday through Sunday.
A New Jersey native, I received a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Masters in Communications from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. I got my start in journalism as editor of the Mascoma Week (circ. 1,200), in Lebanon, N.H. I was a reporter and editor for six years at the New Bedford (Mass.) Standard-Times before joining The Evening Sun in Baltimore in 1980. I have worked for The (morning) Sun since the evening paper ceased publication in 1995.
History, travel, backyard astronomy, kayaking on the Gunpowder.
