Christopher Keating
Bureau Chief
My Role

Keating has been the Capitol Bureau Chief for 13 of the past 15 years, covering the administrations of Gov. John G. Rowland, M. Jodi Rell and the new governor who will take over in January. In the days after the chaotic, Florida-style election, that remained unclear.
My Biography

A graduate of Fordham University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Keating worked in the photo department at Newsweek magazine in New York City from 1981 through 1984. He worked for the Greenwich Time in Connecticut for six years, covering politics, police and polo and writing about personalities from attorney Roy Cohn to hotel magnate Leona Helmsley. He joined the Hartford Courant in late 1990 after the election of Lowell P. Weicker, Jr. He has been working at the state Capitol for most of the time since January 1993, except for stints in the Enfield bureau, on the business desk, and covering the courts fulltime for 18 months in 2001 and 2002.
