I do this thing called search engine optimization (SEO). In a nutshell, I'm supposed to get Tribune's content to the first page of Google. As part of doing this, I travel like a maniac domestically (training newsrooms) and internationally (speaking at SEO conferences).

All in all...I love my job.

I was raised in a small town of 800 people in northeastern Oregon. The name? Irrigon, OR...first half of the word 'irrigation', second half of the word 'Oregon'. Yes, that much of a hick town. But I call it home.

Raised a Mormon, I went to college in Utah (Weber State University) majoring in Technical Sales & Marketing. Moved to Southern California soon after and started my career doing SEO (though it wasn't called that then) for ecommerce sites like Amazon.com, Buy.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com etc. I was a vendor for them and sold my products by getting them to rank well in the search engines at each of the different sites. It was fun!

I joined Tribune in February 2008 (I was Tribune's Valentine's Day gift) and that was when I moved to Chicago (first time I'd even ever been to Chicago).

The rest . . . they say . . . is history.

Most anything and everything.

I'm an adrenaline junkie, thus I really like: skiing (water and snow...I even barefoot), scuba diving, skydiving, and I'd love to try hang gliding off the cliffs of Rio.

I've never bungie jumped. I'm scare to death of heights and thus I'd love to try it!!
